I love asymmetrical wreaths. They are such a fun, chic new take on the traditional wreath and are so on trend right now. I've been drooling over some of the ones featured by Anthropologie's Terrain. They are absolutely stunning!
It's pretty easy to make your own asymmetrical wreaths for the Holidays. They make great gifts as well. Best of all they are pretty fast and don't break the bank.
I love how this simple Magnolia Wreath turned out. I used real magnolia leaves that I dried and preserved, but you can use faux magnolia leaves as well. I made the magnolia flower and it turned out pretty lifelike considering I made it out of craft foam.
To make your own Magnolia Wreath, you will need:
Supplies
A large gold hoop (I used this one from Michaels craft)
Real or faux magnolia leaves (a couple of buds or seed pods are a nice touch as well)
Floral wire or other fine wire (small zip ties would also work)
White craft foam sheet
Pastels or colored pencil (if you want to add a little color to the flower) I also used some iridescent pearl power to give it a little sparkle (optional)
Tools
Glue gun
Scissors
Wire cutters
Heat gun, candle or other heat source for shaping the foam petals
