This is another big project that I have been wanting to do for years. Last summer I made it a reality!! I built my very own Natural Swimming Pool! And here's the best part...I did it for super cheap. I designed and installed the whole pool myself for under $1,000. And I could have done it even cheaper, but I wanted some fancy limestone boulders. (They were the biggest expense by far)

I love natural swimming pools/swimming ponds. They are very popular in Europe, but are only now gaining traction in the U.S. I have been wanting a natural swimming pond for several years and always swoon when I would see them on Pinterest or IG, but the price tag was always waaay out of my meager budget. And I was hard pressed to understand why. I mean it is basically a lined koi or wildlife pond that you can swim in. I'd built a couple of small wildlife ponds in our yard and I thought "How hard can it be to build one big enough to swim in?" Turns out it was pretty straight forward. I did a few things the hard way and I learned some valuable lessons along the way (which hopefully you can benefit from), but it really turned out quite nice and we swim in it almost every day! Sometimes twice a day because the summers have been so freaking hot!

It is by far one of my favorite projects and trust me, if I can do it, you can too!
I plan to do a few blog posts on the process and include links to the supplies & products I used to make it easier for you. Note: If if you purchase something from the links provided, I get a small percentage at no additional cost to you. Thanks for helping support my future crazy projects. I really appreciate it!
